Driving To Charleston

Wow. This is the first time I've been able to sit at the computer since I arrived here. (And that's only because my dad is leaving for a board meeting.)

Well, we made it --obviously. It took around 11 1/2 hours. It felt like 11 1/2 days. Seriously.

We were actually making pretty good time until we arrived just north of Charlotte. If you live in the Lake Norman area, can you please explain to me why there is always a traffic jam there? Personally, I think people forget they are driving, because they are mesmerized by the beautiful lake. (It is quite picturesque.) Anyway, it never fails to be a frustrating scene. I can't imagine living there and dealing with that every day.

I realize I live near Atanta -and that place is the WORST to drive in, but I rarely go into the city. In my town, we travel by golf cart, so I haven't worked up a tolerance for traffic quite yet.

Anyway, we're here, and they're calling for snow, and the kids and I are THRILLED at the prospect of it. The rest of my family is dreading it, but we are excited. (It doesn't take much for us -we're simple people.)
