Lombok -Review

Lombok sells exotic, Indonesian-inspired furniture, including; bookcases, desks, and dining tables. They also sell an incredibly wide variety of home accessories, including; lamp shades, laundry baskets, and log baskets. Their stores are based in the United Kingdom, but they will ship world-wide.

I found the site easy to navigate. I could effortlessly find answers to any questions I had about the stores, the company, or individual products. The product categories are identified neatly to the left side. When clicked individually, the layout is neat and clear. There is an ability to “show all” instead of viewing products by page which I find appealing. Each individual picture can be closely inspected by simply running the mouse over it.

The homepage has a clearly marked picture to the right that will guide you to a page on learning more about spring and summer trends in decorating. This page offers some ideas to update your home using new Lombok products.

The contact number for customer service is clearly marked throughout the site. It states specific hours, but makes a point of letting you know any messages you leave will be answered.

Lombok has a passion for the environment and shows that by offering trade-ins for unwanted furniture and by donating portions of its sales on certain items to ecological charities.

My personal favorite part of the site is the “Get the Look” tab that is located at the top of the home page. Upon clicking it, you are given the opportunity to search for specific looks based on the type of room you want to decorate. After choosing a room, you can choose a sub-category of the type of style you prefer. The picture shown will be accompanied by descriptions of the pieces featured, so that you can recreate the look in your own home.

The only issue I had with the company blog is that the font is rather small on some pages, particularly the home page. I realize that they offer so many products and ideas, they have to be able to fit it all in. Some viewers may have problems reading everything and could miss some valuable information.
