Ideas for Leftover Candy

I don't know about you, but if this stuff sits around then I'm going to eat it. With that in mind, I looked around on the net for a few ideas of how to put all this halloween candy to good use:

1) Send it to the troops in Iraq. Get the information here...it's on their wishlist.

2) Donate it to a local food bank or nursing home.

3) There are quite a few recipes on the web for chopped up candy bars. You can add them to cookie dough, brownie mix, cupcakes, fudge, etc. There are more detailed recipes here and here.

4) Crumble candy over ice cream or blend with ice cream to make a really unique treat.

5) Stick it in the freezer and ration throughout the next few months. (Hopefully that out-of-sight out-of-mind trick will work!)

6) Take it to the office. I know from past life experience that ANY TIME food is taken to work, it is devoured in no time.

7) Use a tip from Preschoolers Today: "Another way to prepare for the upcoming holiday season is making a candy turkey, wreath or Christmas tree. Using cardboard or poster board, children can cut out either a traced or freehand turkey, wreath or their favorite holiday symbol. Taping colorful pieces of candy for the eathers or boughs will add a festive flair to the anticipation of the season. Removing one piece a day as a count down to the holiday or as a reward for accomplishing household chores will encourage self-discipline for consuming the candy and give them a treat to look forward to."

Any other ideas that anyone wants to share?
