My "nothing" day is not exactly happening.
The golf cart charger has unexpectedly died, and I have to drive over to Affordable Golf Carts for a new one. It shouldn't be that big of a deal. It shouldn't be... The good news is that it's fairly close to Starbucks, so I can pop over for another salted caramel hot chocolate. Any time I can get over there makes life more bearable.
I did have to break it to my son this morning that I would have to drive him to school. That went over really well. (rolling eyes) I promised him that it would be fixed by tomorrow, so that eased his suffering a little. But you know what? He's right. The golf cart is MUCH better. Today was my first day driving him to school. What a pain!
First of all, I totally embarrassed myself. But, hey, I wouldn't even know that I was alive if I didn't somehow embarrass myself EVERY day. I started to make a wrong turn into the parking lot, but I caught myself. I saw the "one way only" sign, so I kept driving. I had no idea that sign was there. (Again...I've only driven him to school in the golf cart.) The few times I did drive to school to pick him up early, I parked in the front lot...never the back.
So, I think, I obviously missed a turn -I'll just turn around at the next driveway. I turned into the driveway and attempted to turn around. Well, I see all these cars with their blinkers on trying to get into the "driveway" that I'm awkwardly turning around in, and that's when I realize..."oh, this is the entrance to the back parking lot." There wasn't a sign ANYWHERE. You can't see the back parking lot from the road, so I just didn't know.
Well, I was turned around by that point, so I had to pull into a subdivision, turn around AGAIN, and pull back into the parking lot. (AAAAH - (That's me screaming.)) Finally, we are there, my son is in the school, and I do find my way out of the parking lot. Then I sit in traffic and wait...and wait...and wait...all the while watching golf carts whiz by me.
So...buying a new golf cart charger today is fine by me. I will gladly give up time on the couch to get my golf cart back in order. And, I'm sure the neighborhood will breathe a sigh of relief to get me off the road.
